Short bio

Gargoyles in the Rafters are an alternative rock band that likes to record and perform in ye olde churches of York. The line up of Tom (vocals and guitar), Alexis (vocals, keys, clarinet and pipe organ), Oli (bass) and Phil (drums) aim to tailor their sound and lyrical content to these reverberant spaces. While spanning a wide range of styles and influences, from angsty rock to melancholy ballads, funky jams to choral harmonies, GitR explore themes of creation, relationships, existential dread and redemption. #realreverb

Our first 3 singles are out and available everywhere for your listening pleasure. There even exists a limited edition Compact Disc containing all three called "What About Super Duper Genesis Love?" available at our gigs.

We are currently working on our first album which we hope to be released in early 2026.
